CHANGES TO 2020 ANNUAL SPRING GENERAL MEETING, COACHES TRAINING AND JUNIOR TENNIS WORKSHOP
Even though the fliers inviting people to attend this year’s Spring General Meeting,Coaches Training and Junior Workshop were mailed out on Friday, MID-TAC’s Executive Committee, along with the Workshop Committee Chairperson, has decided to hold the 2020 Spring Meeting via Conference Call due to the poor handling of the containment and testing of the Coronavirus in the USA. The virus itself raises a number of health concerns but the inability to let people know how to protect themselves or what to avoid or do while traveling or being in contact with others, makes it almost impossible to know if you are being exposed. MID-TAC does not want to be responsible for any unnecessary risk for any of our Members. This is an early decision which will allow MID-TAC to cancel the IRC Tennis Club reservation and the Marriott Hotel Contract without penalty. It may be that there will be less danger by April 18th but we cannot wait to make last minute cancellations. The on-line registration link has now been closed down. Any refunds will be made immediately.
MID-TAC plans to hold the Annual Spring General Meeting via our conference call line on Saturday, April 18, 2020 from 9am to 12:00pm cst. We will no longer pursue a webinar with the USTA National Diversity Specialist, Esu’ Maat, for the Coaches Training that was suppose to take place at IRC. We also regret that the Junior Tennis Workshop will have to be cancelled altogether. We hope that announcing these changes now will give everyone a chance to make arrangements to support the alternative Conference Call. As in previous General Meeting Conference Calls the Agenda, Financial Report and other Committee Reports will be emailed ahead of time. Please send an email to midtactennis@gmail.com by Friday, April 10, 2020 if you wish to participate in the General Spring Meeting Conference Call. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation with these changes.
